The Bagel-Aide is the only truly different bagel slicer

We are really excited about the Bagel-Aide. It has been in research and development for over two years and is now available. It all began about three years ago, when our founder purchased a so called "bagel slicer" . He took it home and tried to use it. The bagel would not even fit into it. It looked like an clear plastic ice cream cone with a bagel sitting on top.

He never was able to use it to slice a single bagel, but it found use as a napkin holder until it broke. The experience got him thinking that there must be a better device available. After shopping around for a few months, he gave up and started thinking about the features a good bagel slicer should have.

He came up with the following criteria.

  1. It must accommodate bagels of all sizes, especially today's monster bagels
    The Bagel-Aide will easily fit bagels up to five inches in diameter. Its unique design also allows it to hold and slice smaller objects equally well. It even will cut English muffins, if you are tired of ripping them apart when you try to separate them..
  2. It must be adjustable to make slices of different thickness.
    The Bagel-Aide has an adjustable tray which allows it to make a slice from 1/4 inch to 1 & 1/8 inches thick.
  3. It must be safe.
    The Bagel-Aide has a removable lid that both holds the bagels firmly, but gently, in place while keeping the fingers away from the blade.
  4. It must make a straight, even cut.
    The Bagel-Aide has a single cutting slot, which will only permit a straight cut.
  5. It must be stable so it doesn't slip around the counter top.
    The Bagel-Aide has non-skid rubber feet.

It works so well that it can cut croissants, bialys, English muffins and rolls of all sorts. It also comes complete with a knife which is the perfect compliment to the Bagel-Aide. It allows enough sawing action for those who like to use big stroke, (like sawing a log) although we have found that short rapid strokes works best. In summary, the Bagel-aide is unlike any other bagel slicer around. Most importantly it works!
